The implementation phase of SBS is targeted to begin in fall 2009 for grades Preschool-8 and in the fall of 2010 for grades 9 - 12.

2007-08
• Harness energy for change
• Develop awareness of SBS with staff and stakeholders
• Build a shared vision of high-performing district reinvention
• Foster relationships and collaborative groups
• Design communication systems
• Train leadership
• Seek funding sources
• Refine, prioritize, align standards and assessments
• Generate reporting processes
• Garner technology solutions for SBS
• Solicit support from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
• Interface with the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE)

2008-09
• Train Pre K-8 on instructional practices
• Determine placement of Pre-K-8 students in developmental levels
• Determine procedures for students advancement
• Develop Pre-K-8 curriculum aligned to standards and assessments
• Develop Pre-K-8 electronic report card
• Develop Pre-K-8 tools
• Train 9-12 teachers
• Align Pre-K-8 systems, policies
• Align HR and B&F systems to SBE
• Develop assessments for progress
• Interface with CDE
• Interface with CCHE

2009-10
• Sustainable training for new staff
• Implement Pre-K-8
• Check/adjust/refine Pre-K-8 processes
• Celebrate successes Pre-K-8
• Train 9-12 on instructional practices
• Develop 9-12 curriculum aligned to standards and assessments
• Develop 9-12 electronic report card and transcript
• Develop 9-12 tools
• Align 9-12 systems, policies
• Interface with CDE
• Interface with CCHE

2010-2011
• Sustainable training for new staff
• Implement with freshman class
• Check/adjust/ refine Pre-K-8, 9 processes
• Celebrate successes Pre-K-8 & 9
• Involve community in assessing student performance
